Résumé
Among the Oscan epigraphic data from Pompeii there is a group of texts commonly known as ‘eítuns inscriptions’ after the keyword they contain. All of these were painted in red on the wall of buildings, usually at a certain height from the ground (c. 1.8–3m) and close to a street corner, so as to be easily visible and readable.
